125000 is still impressive. Have you checked the shutter without a lens?

It functions normal at the time. So I keep using it, but have to check my images in between and always take my K-5 II with me and no trips with just my Silver

"Hi Pentax, I've been doing some great advertising for you through my great work. Can you repair the shutter in my silver K-5?"

Well it is under two years, but I guess the warrenty expired due to heavy use. Do you think they check the shuttercount? At the time the camera works and that is one problem to send it in for repair. If they test it and it functions then it is just a waist off time. Our repairservice is not very well in handling incidental issues.

Well, you can always ask them. At least I find the repair service here in Sweden very good and I've been to them a couple of times. Maybe they see you as a professional photographer and gives you a bit extra service too?

Found this:
K-5 : 100,000 shutter activations?: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review
"It means that the shutter is tested for so many actuations. If you go beyond 100 000 shutter actuations under the warranty period (1 - 2 year, depending on country) then this does not affect warranty."

Working fine. Didn't make many images over the past 6 weeks, so the shutter is now just over 129.000.

The shuttercount says 175.491 and the camera is still functioning fine:

http://www.camerashuttercount.com/result/c924b95b-9756-425c-8925-e22fc79d6b7b

Not to heavy use anymore and made just 10.000 images or so with the camera in 2014 so far.

This from the last day off use. Final WTA tennistournament in Rosmalen. Winning lady Coco VandeWEGHE:

#175.091

Congratulations on the 175,000 mark! I just sold my K10D (2007 vintage) with about 25,000 actuations. I guess that makes me a lightweight shooter. Your high count reminds me of a friend who went through three Canon 70D bodies in a year due to shutter failure. She is prolific and generally shoots about 2000 frames a week and has yet to get 100,000 actuations from one of her camera bodies.

Ha, you have a very long way to go!
Maybe when you reach that point, the camera might pop a message that, as a loyalty user, you deserve a new flagship camera for free.
