Red dot on LCD but not in pictures

I noticed this the other night while playing with my new sigma 150-500 (which is going back because it shudders as it retracts). I didn't think too much of it but tonight while taking some moon shots I noticed it again.

There are two images, one with the LCD zoomed in some and one where it's not. You can see the dot in both shots. Quality = iphone 3gs

imgur: the simple image sharer

However, it's not there in pictures. The shot with the moon turned up no red dots or anything out of the ordinary.

I'll be sending the camera back this coming week but is there anything I should expect? Has anyone seen anything like this? Stuck pixel maybe? It doesn't have a negative effect but it's annoying as heck.

edit: It's there with any lens I use, not just the sigma.

Stuck pixel on the LCD, I think.
Does it remain after powering off, and then removing and re-inserting the battery?

And was the camera hot at the time (body temp is in the EXIF)? Does the red-dot go away when the body is cooler?

Does not remain after powering off, battery replacement doesn't do anything, camera was never in any extreme temps but recently hot and pretty humid So Cal temps but temp makes no difference. It's always there.

Seems time for the camera to visit the Pentax doctor.

Stuck pixels happen. I've had one on my K-5 since I got it and don't even notice it any more (though it's very close to the edge of the screen).

IMO it's not worth trying to repair it, as even a brand new LCD may have or may develop a stuck pixel.

I concur with Adam. A stuck pixel on LCD screens of all shapes and sizes is common and neither here nor there. For example laptops and LCD computer screens quite often have warranty policy wording stating that one or two stuck pixels doesn't constitute grounds for a claim. Doesn't affect the final image and no real impact on camera usability. I'd be more worried about what damage may occur to my camera while in transit to a repairer and being kicked around in a courier van.

Well I did plan to send it in eventually because I do want it to get a look over to be sure I haven't damaged anything (I was sort of rough with it when I first got it, and I swear the SR makes more noise than it originally did). I'll see what they say, it's just so annoying to be almost smack in the middle of the LCD.

Maybe I can convince Pentax to upgrade me to the K-5II for a small fee....
