sensor cleaner

Hi. I'm Steve. I recently purchased a K-5 to replace my K20D. I didn't hear or feel the sensor cleaner on start up like I do on the K20. Do you not feel it on the K5 or does mine just not work?

Thanks
Steve

If you search for previous posts on this topic you'll find that the K-5 uses a different type of sensor cleaning mechanism than other Pentax cameras, or at least different from all the ones I'm familar with. Without the usual buzzing to rely on, I'm not sure how to verify that it's operating, and that is a little disconcerting. But apparently relatively silent cleaning operation is normal for the K-5.

There have been a number of threads asking this question. The method used to clean the sensor changed from the K20D to the K7/K5 models. The K10D/20D etc. shook the whole sensor while the K5 uses an ultrasonic vibration of some type instead which is silent unless you put you ear to the camera on startup.
