K5II Availability...

Just called B&H Photo (6:50pm EDT) to see if they have the K5II in stock yet, as their website says: "Expected October 15" -
They don't show it in their system yet.
Their rep. said maybe tomorrow.....

I contacted pentax directly. They are now saying the 19th at the earliest. Maybe even next week.

Where is the PF review with actual comparative images. It was to be released today. I expected at least a head line not a story about some P&Ss.

Even if PF could get their hands on a copy before the release I'm sure they'd have to sign some agreement to not release info until x amount of time before the release date. If the release has been pushed, so will reviews.

No way to get us all excited about a new camera. You can still let a review out now even if it is not shipping for a week or two. Wet the appetite if you know what I mean.

B&H's website deleted the October 15 release date and now says: "New Item, Available for pre-order"....

Tick, tick, tick......

Just got this response from B&H with respect to K-5 ii:

"Unfortunately, at this time we don't have an estimate for the arrival of this new product. Although we have received a few shipments, It is being released in limited quantities by the manufacturer. As we receive them, we fulfill the orders that were placed most in advance.

Other than what we show on our web page we have no further information as to anticipated delivery schedule/date. We do not have access to the list of pre-orders/backorders, but are aware that there are quite a few."

So B&H has received a few shipments of K-5 IIs... or just shipments in general?

That's a really weirdly worded email.

Agree, I asked for more details without success.

If you received a response it probably would have been something to create even more confusion.

"Have you received actual shipments of K-5 II cameras or are you stating you have received other Pentax shipments and no K-5 II?"

"Yes. One of those."
