And I'll pick up a silver 31 to go with it.

I'd hope for it, but I don't think I could justify the inevitable higher pricing... probably $500 more.

If they made a silver battery grip for it too, that would make an awesome package.

I think we all know it will be forthcoming, but who among us will "collect" it when it does?

Depending on many things. Like, do I need a new camera, how much more expensive is it and how much money do I have.

Considering that Pentax makes a special edition of every camera, they're bound to release a special version of the K-5 II!

As long as there is a black edition then I'm happy. A limited edition silver is cool and probably likely, but if it costs more then you'd need your head read if you considered buying it!

Well my K-5 Silver is starting to get old and very used. The shutter is now just over 111.000 and I don't know how far it wil reach.

So would be nice to have a replacement (not to expensive) within my budget.

Did I mention I run a retirement home for silver Pentax lenses and bodies? Ship it to me, and I'll be sure that it has plenty of rest and the occasional diversion.

My answer would be "meh"... it's a colour. If it doesn't offer any more/better features than the stock camera then I'm not going to spend more money on it just because it's a different colour. To me the camera is a tool, not a fashion statement. I pay for features, not what it looks like.

"fashion statement".
Think that's reserved for the K-x, k-r, and Q.

I'm a little partial to silver....both my K-7 and K-5 (1st run) being that way....depending on how much better the k5iis is from the K5...I might be tempted...
