Pentax K5 and Vivitar70-210/3,5

Hallo, can you help me? I have Vivitar series 1 70 - 210/3,5 Pentax mount. I want use on the Pentax K5, but I can not put the lens mount. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you Honza

A lot of Vivitars have a shield around the aperture lever that is larger than normal, this interferes with the newer bodies. You can usually remove the entire shield with a couple screws. There isn't really any consequence to leaving this off that I have seen, but if it makes you feel better you can cut it down to the normal size and reinstall it.

Posting a picture of the mount would let us know for sure if your lens has this over sized shield.

You have the Kiron made one with a serial number that starts with 22? I there is a button to allow it to go into macro mode, put the lens at 210mm, press the button and turn it until the macro line lines up with the red dot, then the zoom becomes focus. At 70mm on the zoom scale it should be at maximum magnification.

I would like to ask. Komine also has a macro lens on 70mm most? I have Kiron. Focusing distance of about 50mm. Than you Honza

The Komine works differently, it just has more focus travel in the 100 and 210mm range. I haven't used a Komine and Kiron side by side, I only have the Komine at the moment.
