Firmware update - what gets reset?

Hello,
I tried to search in the forums but couldn't find the answer. I'm about to update the firmware of my K-5 (1.12->1.13) but I'd rather not loose my
- Custom settings
- Micro af adjustments
Do those resist the firmware update or do they get wiped off? What's your approach if they get wiped off? Is there anything to "backup"?

I have always just blindly jumped in a updated and so far haven't had anything reset. All settings seem to stay the same before to after and this has been through three different Pentax cameras including the K-5.

It won't reset anything unless an actual setting gets changed by the firmware, etc.
