Yes indeed and may my experience drive that point home.
I have since learned that to best deal with vids in Adobe Premiere one must first convert them from their native format to something called DV Type-2 - I'm currently in the process of finding the best (for me) way of backing-up and converting my files. I don't use my camera very much in this mode, but when I do I would like it to work out. I ran into much the same set of problems with my Drift HD helmet cam.
