Very positive DxOMark review of K5 II

Can't see that it has been posted here yet, a nice verdict with some interesting wording =) :

There is an increase in the low-light performance but it is very slight. Reading through the specifications side by side they could almost be interchangeable. The differences that are there include an improvement in the performance of the image stabilization system in low light, an increase in the size of the image buffer allowing a greater number of images to be captured continuously, and the screen now boasts an airgapless coverglass offering better viewing contrast. Otherwise, the changes seem to be to the software. As the name suggests, this is a version two, not a completely new camera.
Interesting, so there is a mild improvement in ISO performance (1162 -> 1235), and an improvement in the IBIS (which some users have noticed, while others have called BS).

Nice. It is basically the best APS-C camera out there. Spanks the Canon 7D with regard to sensor performance. Passes the D7000 slightly (although probably within the range of error of the testing).

The thing I don't know is if Pentax could squeeze more out of Sony's 24 megapixel sensor than others have. Currently, the K5 II seems significantly better than, say, the alpha 77 (of course, hampered by the SLT).

If compared with the D7000s sensor, it passes only slight. If compared with the D7000 as a camera, then we have to consider the better WR, the quieter shutter, vs the AF on the D7000 (which some people don't really laud either).

The k-5II really is best APS-C on the market until the k-3 comes out, in terms of sheer features and price.

I thought that words ''positive'' and ''Pentax'' are not avalable in a single sentence on DXo site.

Really? They love Pentax cameras as indicated by their scores. The lenses though tend to do worse than the competition in measurable tests. This doesn't mean they have some anti-Pentax bias.

Does the ii really have a larger buffer? Hadn't heard that.

Also hadn't heard of an improvement in the "low light stabilization system". Is that a typo and they are talking about the AF system?

That only applies to Pentax lenses. Don't ever go into that section...

The Pentax K-5 II is a remarkable piece of kit, it scores better in the DxO mark tests than several very highly thought of, full frame DSLRs, beating all the cameras made by Canon! It manages to do this in a body that is very reasonably priced. Add to this that you can fit lenses to the K-5 II that Pentax made as far back as 1975 and the multitude of independent lenses that are available and this camera becomes not only a remarkable performer but also a fantastically versatile camera at an exceptional price..
by far my favorite line.

You need to ensure that the other manufacturer's lens results were measured on an APS-C body.
