Took An 80 Mile Trip To Baker Beach(San Francisco)...

and learned a couple of things.

1)My K-5's electronic horizon needs to be calibrated

2)I need a REAL ballhead

3)Don't run like a girl when the tide suddenly comes in because you decided to wear sneakers.

Happy Thanksgiving!

For years, I lusted after the Bogen vertical grip/tripod. When I finally got one, it sat unused for 12 years as I got into high-end audio. Now that I'm back, I find that it's a pain to adjust accurately. I'm getting the Really Right Stuff BH-55 and be done with it.

Yeah I noticed my cameras level is quite a bit off (checked with builders level - testing in both orientations to identify any builders level inaccuracy which there wasn't really). Seems like this a very common problem and unfortunately no way to tweak or calibrate it I understand. Might just have to remember the few degrees I need to compensate for.

We live not far from the sea, and I have to say some of the "girl" runners we see going past have a pretty good running style - so maybe thats not very insulting after all.

They can. It really should be able to calibrated by the user, though.
