Originally posted by Chuckie I took photos at our company year-end function last week with my K-5, Sigma 10-20, Pentax DA 35 Limited and FA77 Limited. The lighting inside was a mixture of fairy lights, red LED, fluorescent, normal incandescent and fire. What a nightmare for white balance! I did a few test shots to get a reasonable setting that I would be able to work with later. I let the ISO go up to 800.
When I got home I put the photos through the Pentax Utility program and adjusted exposure and white balance. I then cropped the photos (some a lot) to get rid of distractions in the background. Even after all the fiddling, I still ended up with stunning shots with great detail. Thanks Pentax for a really great sensor (and some great lenses too).
I think we can give Pentax some credit. Keeping in mind that Pentax tweaked this sensor to not only achieve but maintain the no. 1 APS-C performance spot amidst all the other manufacturers using the very same sensor.
