That's amazing to me that you just had the camera sitting on the dash. You must have some smooth roads with no hills or bends

I had a leather lens pouch under the lens to ease the vibrations, but I did have to hold it with my hand on the speed bumps in my apartment.

Just got home and made one with my K-01, so all the works in the camera with interval. Still it does count for the shutter and I'm up 1800 images today. Some how it doesn't feel as vacationally as timelapses from other country's.

We didn't have that great Grand Canyon feeling during the trip that you can find on some youtube timelapse movies.
