Couldn't get her to switch

After a year and a k7 and k5 to play with my wife still preferred her old system. So I went shopping and now have the k5 all to my self. Wonder if I can swing a back up body???

Congratulations, no need to fight over lenses and accessories. Just the budget.

Such a shame. You could have shared a pool of lenses.

Take her on a long hike! She will get tired of the D7000 soon enough!

To each his own, both cameras are great IMO and they both have pros and cons when compared. But I bet that you would start making her jealous by expanding your limited lens collection

Those two cameras are the exact same I have in my house. My sister's BF has a D7000 and I have a K-5. We both have our upps and downs in certain areas of each camera. I would like to say that when my sister's BF got his SB 700 flash, I was super jealous at it's capabilities compared to my AF540FGZ.

If he has HIS own account, there'll be no fight. it amazes me how some guy's have to ask for permission. If the bills are paid and food is on the table, no problem.

Isn't it very obvious why she prefer D7000 than K5? It's bigger, and have longer reach.

I agree, assuming one of the bills that is getting paid is an adequate amount being set aside for retirement, and another one of the bills being paid is a mortgage, not rent (a mortgage-free home being a key part of retirement planning).

Time to put your foot down and show who is the man ... joking ...
On the good side, you both get to play with two different systems and get the best out of both.
