What were your shooting conditions? What I remember with the 1.02 freeze was that I was taking multiple shots of a ladybug on my arm with continuous tracking with a 21ltd (testing the micro adjustment) late in the afternoon

There might be a common theme as to why the freeze happens.

The shooting conditions were different. Twice with da 40mm and af-s. Once with 55-300mm and af-c.
I am currently on vacation at the florida keys and shoot alot.

Not sure. After I upgraded to 1.01 a few days ago I had already a freeze after a few test shots with my da 40mm. I think we should report the problem to pentax. The more complain the better...

Is the freeze problem only on the iis? My ii seems ok (so far) however, I haven't been using it a lot since the update.

My IIs also froze

v1.01 froze on me while using AF with DA35 Macro Ltd. I had to remove the battery also.

Is there a way to revert to 1.00?

Not really, no, but you should upgrade to v1.02 if you can. The crashing but happens, albeit rarely.

Another update: No freezes today. Today I shot less in a row and turned the camera off in between. Lenses used: da 40 + da 15.

Got word from CRKennedy saying they've passed my message onto Pentax and saying they'll hopefully look into it. Fingers crossed.

Did try more testing indoors and no dice. I'm speculating it's a reduced heat limit feature as I've shot fine in 34 degrees centigrade with v1.00 firmware without fail.

No. I've had it freeze twice on 1.01 and so far once on 1.02. Seems to be an introduced bug since it was flawless on 1.00
I had two freezes, one with fw 1.01about four weeks ago and the second today with fw 1.02
Lens was DA 55-300, it was cold about 0°C, windy with some raindrops.

Hmm. Think I'll stick with 1.00 for the time being since I NEVER do HDR.
