Wonderful pictures - a quality that I aspire to achieve.
I've been saving for a longer lens, and have always wanted the Pentax DA* 60-250 (not particularly long, I know) on the basis that it is sharp and therefore easier to crop, and is a constant F4. I've also been considering a Sigma 150-500, or 50-500. Seeing these images is making me reconsider the Sigma's.

I am considering the Sigma 150-500 so followed this thread. While the narratives were pretty convincing, these photos close the deal. I know it's more the photographer than the lens, but these pictures are stunning.

If I may take a guess... from a relatively short distance (less than 10 meters?), from a hide, by someone with a lot of dedication, patience, intimate knowledge of the subjects' behaviour, and a very good eye! Truly stunning work indeed.

Hi Siluet23, I am flabbergasted by your photos, I am so impressed that I ordered the lens, I was hesitating about a lens, the max I have with my K20d is the Pentax 55-300mm, which to me is already a good lens but now I am looking forward toward the receipt of my new lens. The 50-500mm seems to be good but a little out of my budget. Anyway, at 70 I am almost like a kid waiting for his gift and this just because of your extraordinary work, congratulations and thank you.

wow, that kingfisher is truly action captured. All shots are truly amazing. You have a high level of patience and passion. I have had moderate success capturing birds but seeing these has motivated me to go out there and try harder. Thank you for posting these photos. What skill !!

Wow. Breathtaking really. Seriously, as some has suggested, you should send a few samples to Sigma and they might make you as their Ambassador.

How did I miss seeing these shots before. Stunning. I have the 50-500 (non OS) and no way I can get these kind of shots. Hope I have the patience to learn the proper techniques to get shots like these

These are incredible. I just got a Prestige and am going with the 150-500mm lens. I'm adding the hd wr 55-300mm as well. The source of all those different kinds of birds is a gold mine. Where is it?
