Accidental K-5iis

I responded to an online ad for a k-5ii for $900. Advertised as New in box grey market, warranty card from Japan. I went to check it out - it was a K-5iiS. Everything in the box, still wrapped, seemed legit - Shutter count when I snapped a photo to test it out came up as 001 in the folder.

I confirmed with him the price paid and went my merry way.

I am still pinching myself!

Soooooo worth it for a no-warranty IIs? I am just being nervous if something goes wrong in the next year but I understand that Pentax would still repair it without warranty card I would just have to pay for it.

Its quite the upgrade from my Kx I'll tell you that much....

Send the warranty to Japan. At least you can send it back should there's a problem. Which on line ad is that?

It was a private seller on a local Craigslist type thing. Good advice on the warranty card I like it.

I actually started to feel guilty about if I was taking advantage so I called him up over the weekend and made sure he knew he had sold me an S rather than just a 2 and he said he was just basing the sale price on making a profit from what he had paid so I shouldn't have worried. Nice guy. Don't know how he had gotten it so cheap but I'm glad I reached out to him. Camera works great I've taken around 30 pics so far without any issues.

You need to use it over 30K clicks to be sure there is nothing wrong with it
Congrats.
