New K5 day

Well I have my K5 and now finally my lens. I ordered a K5 and DA18-55 AL WR lens from Duty Free Central. Looked like a good deal for a AUS $849 shipped.
The camera was delivered with no lens... I followed up and the lens was dispatched quickly with no dramas. I can recommend this organization from my experience. Anyway I am looking forward to taking this away for Easter and learning how to use it. I have an Astron 35-70 and Tamron 90-300 from my old SF7 days. About 20 years old. Already impressed that I can use the 300 zoom without worrying about the camera shaking.

You won't be pleased to know that I bought the K-5 and 18-55mm WR last week from CR Kennedy (aka Pentax Australia) for $735 (including shipping).

You get that. Not that worried. You can spend the rest of your life looking for the "best deal" or waiting for prices to drop and never buy anything. Was a 50th birthday gift from friends and family.

Congratulations! Like you, I've really enjoyed being able to use my old glass. I trust you'll have a great time with your new tool. I'm certainly enjoying my K-5.
