Impossible? No. Practical? Not really. Fret not, I'm sure that Pentax will launch the new APS-C Camera in years end, no doubt with subtle improvements across the board and some minor feature implementations.
My guess for changes:
24MP Toshiba Sensor(Same as D7100/D5200/D3200) - Probably lacking an AA filter, or having an "S" variant.
Improved Weather Resistance(Perhaps combined ports for more things, reduced the number of seals required)
Faster, More Responsive AF with better low light than K-5II/s perhaps.(As well as an AF-C overhaul?)
Focus Peaking
1080 24/25/30/(60?) Video
More Cache Memory, allowing for longer bursts, and perhaps freeing you to view photos in less time than 30 seconds after filling the buffer with RAW?
More "Creative Filters"(Or as I call them, wasted development resources)
Wishes:
A brand new lens release button, that doesn't fall off!
De-Crippled K Mount
Support to disable SDM on lenses such as the 16-50, 50-135
Built in bubble level beside the top LCD
Dual SD Support And/Or SD/CF(Shoot raw on CF, JPEG on SD = Buffer dumps in record time)
Forget the Toshiba Sensor, Partner with Fuji and get an X-Trans up in here!
Illogical process to make the VF 100%, but larger than a FF VF without distortion.
