So I bought the K-5 II in december to replace one K-5 (black). That was for winterdarkness around soccerfields and it did do that job. My K-5 Silver Limited Edition had a shutter failure shortly after that the K-5 II came, so the K-5 II took first place for a short while. I banged my Silver K-5 and the shutter came loose and works. There is a little difference in the timing with it now compared to the K-5 II, but I learned to live with that (EV compensation). I was back with the K-5!
I had then major issues with my K-5 some weeks ago handling the DA*300mm. It wasn't focussing proparly, so I switched to the K-5 II. I thought that the K-5 was dead. Just rescently at the soccer game between The Netherlands and USA I had the exact same issues now with my K-5 II and the DA*300mm. So I thought that it was the lens dead in my hands. I could get it to work, turning the camera off and twisting the AF-ring and putting it back on. But only for a short while, before the problem came back. In the rest off the game I switched card and battery (wich I normaly never do, but I did make to many images) and all problems where gone.
At home I went looking for the problem. I have 4 camera's and 5 battery's. One off them had one dead cell and not powering enough. Problem solved!
So I'm back again with using the K-5 Silver Limited Edition as my #1 camera and putting the K-5 II back as reserve. I do have more fun in using the Silver camera! Also my working methode (K-5 with DA*300mm on monopod with SR set on) works better with the K-5. On the K-5 II I do use the Sigma 70-200mm with the SR set to off and that works fine for me.
From last sunday and yesterdays paper, both made with K-5 Silver Limited Edition and DA*300mm.
