Finding genuine pentax batteries

Anyone have a source for genuine D-Li90s? All I can find are generics.

No, but why? The Wasabi batteries I own are indistuigishable from the real ones in 2 years of use.

Dont waste your money. Wasabi brand are just as good. I have three genuine batteries and two Wasabi brand for my K-5 and K-01 and I could never tell which battery is in the camera while in use. For $27 you get two Wasabi batteries and a more convenient charger than the original that plugs straight into the wall. Amazon.com: Wasabi Power Battery and Charger Kit for Pentax D-LI90 and Pentax 645D, K-01, K-5, K-5 II, K-5 IIs, K-7: Camera & Photo

edit: looks like Doc beat me to it. haha

sounds good

cool, i'll get those if they are recommended...its just third party batteries are a crap shoot on real capacities and stated voltages, but those seem to be the same voltage and higher capacity than the pentax one. Its strange that you can't find a supply for genuine pentax batteries for a camera that pentax is still making. Maybe because they are getting ready to release the real k5 successor soon.

That battery goes in the K5/7/5II/5IIs/01 and I believe the 645D.

I think it is because they are ready to release an updated version of the battery, probably along with the K-5 successor. This is the updated battery:
Pentax D-LI90(E) Lithium-Ion Battery (7.2V, 1860mAh) 39993 B&H

They already released the new version, costs more and is no better in-camera. Wehad some threads on it a few months ago.

Check those out :

Amazon.com: NEEWER 2x D-LI90 DLI90 Batteries For Pentax K-7 K7 DSLR SLR Digital Camera: Camera & Photo

When I ordered them they were like $6 apiece.
Can't tell the difference performance-wise.

The genuine batteries are available in stock at Adorama for $40 US, currently out of stock at B&H. But as others have said why buy them? I've got Wasabis and Pearstones for the Q, they are as good as the original. I've got a Pearstone for the K-30, as good as the original, and I had a Pearstone and a different knockoff for my K20D which were both as good as the original.

I got the wasabi pack from amazon that was the first thing I found on amazon for k5, I have pearstones for my nx100 and they work fine. I just didn't want to get a bad knockoff.

I also couldn't find Pentax batteries. No one, not even Pentax has them. I ended up getting the Wasabi battery from Amazon a couple of days ago. Got it today. Fits and works perfectly in the camera, grip and charger.

Pentax does not make batteries. They are specially labled by...third-party makers. Sorry.

I have some Lenmars from Adorama. They were $16.95 or something. No noticeable difference.

Hey, you must've gotten similar education in photography like myself. K-5 = the best APS-c DSLR ever

Samsung NX1000 = the best mirrorless ever

Yes I love my NX100, with a P\K adaptor, its pretty much the digital K1000 body that I wanted. Even though it has a bit of noise at high ISO (the NX100 is pretty much a k20 sensor), it works with post processing black and white since its mostly luminance noise. It works brilliantly with m42 and k glass in manual or apt priority. The samsung lenses are wonderful too, affordable, great optics, and 16mm, 20mm, 30mm, 45mm, 60 macro, and 85mm primes. Pentax should try for the same lens roadmap for some affordable DA primes. I just got a k5 from a forum member because I wanted to use my m42 and k lenses with a dslr body. As William Faulkner would say, The past is never dead. It's not even past."
