Out of approximately 7k shots with my K5iis, I've run into serious moire no more than ten times, over the course of several weddings, fashion photography, and general shooting.

With photos for a lookbook we ran into problems with the first version of the K5 and the Canon 5D mkII, it can hit hard if you aren't careful in some situations. Also it very much depends on the sharpness of the lens and the photo itself.
If the lens is not sharp (difraction), the subject moves, the camera moves (<<long shutter speed) and/or you use high ISO then moire won't be an isseu either.
So for those that boost they shot 1,000,000 photos with the S version (or any camera for that matter) and never saw anymore moire, they most likely aren't making the sharpest of photo to begin with.
Most benefit will come from tripod or flash photography, with handheld types of photography the gain will be less or maybe non.
If i put slightly better quality strings on a guitar, it won't do anything for the music if i can't play guitar, beside that everything around it also matters like the guitar, pickups, amp and the speakers for example.
It's the same with the S version, you photos will not magically be 8% or so sharper, you will need to put effort into that and the closer you are of getting all you can out of the camera and lens the greater the benefit will be.

I just purchased the K-5II on Amazon from Emmy Photo. I think the price was hiked up from $1120 to $1300. Came new in the box from Amazon. I briefly read about the K-5IIs but decided on the K-5II since I am just upgrading from an Olympus E-420.

Thanks for all the valuable input everyone.

I have decided to stick with my original decision and have just placed my order for the K5II and 18-135mm WR combo.

Can't wait!

Congrats on the purchase. I love my IIs, but with the lens you are making your primary, you are going to be very happy with the II. Great choice!
