Got myself a new K5IIs

I finally made a decision. I currently have a K01, which is great with smaller prime lenses, but my bigger lenses do not balance very well on it.
Another thing that made me go back to conventional DSLR is using a polarising filter, the effect of which is difficult to see on the LCD screen.
I was in two minds should I get the new K3, or a K5IIs. After reviewing lots of sample K3 photos from this and other sites, I realised that K5IIs has comparatively lower noise at high ISO settings.
K5IIs images look better to me compared to K3.
For me, low noise if more important than the extra megapixels.
Last week, DCW(Australian store) had dropped the price by $200 down to Au$ 1049,which is great value compared to extra $300 for K3.
To cut a long story short, rand DCW last Saturday to see if they had stock, and picked one up in the afternoon.
Only did a few test shots - so far I am very impressed.
My K01 is going to my niece.
Obligatory first shots:

Very Cool.

The K-5 IIs is special, I love mine.

If I was offered a new K-3 for it, I would respectfully decline. Just not ready to give it up.

Have Fun with your new K-5 IIs!!

Thanks Corto-PA.
From little testing I have done, I really like the way it feels well balanced in the hand.
Hoping to give it a good workout this coming weekend.

great work, vlad. I too am keeping a close eye on IIs prices. It might be better value for me than the k3. (i have the k10 and k5).

I hope you enjoy using it as much as I do.
Had it for 3 months now and I am still amazed by it's capabilities.
Cheers

I ordered one yesterday, and it should be here Friday or Saturday. I'm not giving up my K-01. I use it for different kinds of shooting than my DSLR (up to now a K200D).

Congratulations! From the photos I've seen the IIs is just superb. I have also read in several places that to get the best from it one needs to use really good lenses, however. I've only been with my K5 classic for a year, so anything newer will have to wait. And, my DA 17-70 SDM just quit, so there goes some $$$ just to bring me back to where I was..........Anyway, enjoy your new camera!

Seems like the K5IIs is suddenly quite popular. I too hope to be adding comments, showing photos, and of course asking a zillion questions!

At least you guys can get it brand new. Here in Singapore, we can only get it 2nd hand. I managed to get one on the 1st of April from another forummer in the Singapore forum. Love the camera.
