Mine just arrived today, I'm stoked, battery charging.

It's a perfect addition and upgrade to K-01s and K200D (which I'm keeping). I'll post early photos.

A little off topic, but I'm new to the K5 family, do any of you use/recommend LCD screen protectors?

Having screen protectors for phones or cameras have always bothered me more than the small scratches I get without them. But maybe I've just been fortunate to not get any large abrasions...

Personally I have seldom used a protector, and the II has a tempered-glass screen cover. I'll take mine unadorned!

My random thoughts coming from a K-5 (currently disabled so recent experience is with K-01)
I've shot into dark closets and corners several times and I'm very impressed with AF skills. I've been using fast lenses but it isn't always the center point that captures focus. The shutter seems even quieter than the K-5 classic but mine cannot be accessed to 'prove' that

The live-view feature is quite different, or else I've set up my defaults differently. In contrast-AF mode it zooms the view, snaps into focus and pops back; I do not recall my elder K-5 doing that, and I really like it both feedback and speed are great!

Images are most excellent, no surprise and probably an incremental smidge better with newer components. I haven't faced off the K-01 and II yet.

Personally, I prefer naked.

Thanks all, sounds good to me.

So, like the front of my lenses, I'll keep it in the buff.

Uh, Biff.

Here's a JPEG straight OOC:

Granted, the camera does what I tell it to do and I have NO idea what I'm doing (yet)! I will have lots of editing work to do when I get home. Somehow, I switched the camera off of AWB, which it was doing a pretty good job at, to shade, which looks like the above!

In Love with this Pentax wonder

Mine came on Sat. Here is a test shot I took while it was drizzling outside.

Haven't had a chance to seriously play with the new toy, but can't say enough about how impressed I am ... such a huge leap over the K-x. This was just a quick snap with a Tamron 28-75 & AF540 flash @ HSS ... something else I'm glad I can actually do now

New K-5ii owner

Have had a K-x for years and loved it. Bought the K-5ii on the BF sale because of all I read about it's low light performance. Have not been disappointed. Looking forward to many great years of shooting with this camera.

I see that many K-x users upgraded to the K5II this BF just like I did. It's a nice upgrade, mine came in yesterday.
