Hi folks-

This may not be the right forum for this question, but last night I went out for the first first shots with my new K5II and wanted to post one or two here in keeping with the topic, but ran into a snag. I had the images set in RAW PEF and Lightroom 3 won't accept them? Any way to get them into DNG then into LR3. Not that anything is great, but would for fun like to post one of the first. Love my K200D, by my new K5 II is amazing, already.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with Aperture- wouldn't take PEF files. Downloaded "Adobe DNG Converter" and it worked great. Of course changed the camera RAW file type to DNG after that, and have had no more problems importing into Aperture. Assuming would be the same for Lightroom.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Yes, I now have the camera set to DNG as well.

Well, at long last I finally got out for a few minutes after work with my new BF K5II. These are just a couple quick images I wanted to get up on the original post before too long. I can tell this will be a fun camera and that I'll have a lot to learn and grow with it. Thanks.

Very cool Biff, nice color contrast. I'm loving my K-5II as well. My old K-7 was a great body, and now I have the sensor of my old K-01 too!

Recent photos with my new K-5 II

Got my Black Friday Pentax K-5 II about 3 weeks ago. I am in love. This camera can do everything and I am just scratching the surface! Low light, extreme conditions, or anything you throw at it it can handle it. I am just getting started with photography, but I learn so much just taking this camera out and shooting with it. Again I could not think of a better camera for less than $1000.

Here are a couple photos taken Dec. 26, 2013:
