To be honest, I'm still a little skeert of all the buttons. And two dials?!?

I like the little donkey(?), s/he's cute!

For new DSLR users, I always recommend reading the book "understanding exposure". After I did, my creative control over my camera went up by leaps and bounds.

Also, read the manual!

Read the manual first. It's quite well explained, and easy to begin with.

You'll be able to set every parameter that fits you. And you'll get how the camera works and how to use it to get what you want.

Nice! But seems a bit underexposed. Play more with your precious!

You're right about underexposed image. It was my first day and, as I said, there were so many buttons and so little skill. ;-)

haha don't worry! Read the manual and most importantly, do not rely on the auto mode! You won't learn anything out of it Cheers!

I don't think it's too terribly dark though. And if you shot a raw file, you could fix it up a little.

Yes. Great advice. My library had a copy, so I read it for free.

Here ya go...took me about 30 seconds to fix her up a little....she's a cutie!
By the way....the file was pretty small, your camera is capable of a much high image quality. Go into your settings and increase it.

I like it in B&W better...
