Dust Removel Start-up K-5 iis

I have had the K-5 iis a little over a month now having upgraded from the k-10d.

My question is this: When I turn the K10d on you hear a distintive sound as the Dust Removel kicks in, almost as if the sensor is literally shaking.

With the K-5 iis I hear almost no sound on start up, in fact the only sound I hear is something like the lens stopping down, not saying that is what it is just what it sounds like.

Before you ask, yes I do have the dust removel checked for every time the camera is turned on.

Is this some sort of ulta-sonic cleaning as opposed to the K-10D? Or could there be a problem with the K-5 iis.

I have a K5 and it makes no noise. I believe its newer technology.

The K-5 family has the ultrasonic dust removal, "DR II". It is silent, but effective.

Thank you for setting me straight.
After 6 years and over 200,000 pictures with the K-10d I kind of miss that sound when I turn on the K-5 iis although we still used the K10 on occasion. My wife seems to like it better.

Yes, I recently moved up from my old trusty friend, the K10D to a K5II. I'm enjoying the new camera but I also miss that familiar clunky shake of the start up action. I used to occasionally turn the camera off and back on just to feel and hear that action. Now I do it just to see the blue light on my O-GPS1 unit stop flashing! It's just not the same.

My K-5 II is quiet too. I have had the camera over a year and change lens fairly often. I have not seen any evidence of spots on photos, but this last week I did a actual test to find any dust spots and all was clean. For me this was a great change from my old Canon 5D, which was a dust magnet. I did get a lot of practice wet cleaning.
