Yes. I don't have a K-5, but one of my friends does, and he uses Lightroom with no problems. Lightroom supports my K-3 with no problems.

Ok, now I am wondering what telephoto lens to buy. He has a Sigma 70-300 Canon mount which he likes except that it is back focusing. But on the K-5 that doesn't matter because you can change it, so would that be a good option? What else would be a good option under $200? I noticed the Sigma 70-300 APO has an aperture ring and is $99.95 used.

I am still using the older version V4.4 which supports K-5IIs. Newer version should be no problem at all

How about a SMCP-FA 80-320 mm F/4.5.-5.6 for $100 that I found on the Marketplace.

That 80-320 gets mixed reviews - probably it's a matter of learning how to use it.

I'd just say that 80mm is pretty tight for a lot of use, but this is a long zoom. You'll want a short lens for indoor and close work, then you'll have your ranges covered.
