Taken the plunge

Been thinking for a while that I needed a 2ndbody to compliment my Stormtrooper K-50; especially for nights out when tryingto catch the stars (e.g. could use 1 for Trails and 1 for Stacking) orwhen photographing my local football (soccer) team (to save lens changes)

Did umm and ah about waiting for FF but notingthe comments/concerns about the 1st Gen bodies I went and had a look on fleabay andjust won an auction for a K-5 (2011 purchase, 2949 shutter count) for £211($320) which seems a bargain (if genuine) seeing as have seen 'new' on sale for over£600 ($900) ... roll on the weekend when it is due to arrive!

From a comparison of the specs I should haveissues deciding which body I choose on the occasions I only need 1 camera withme

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I am switching over to Pentax from Canon, and I just got a K-5 with 3800 shutter count for $275.00 USD. It came in an original box with all the accessories. The only downside is it was missing the rubber cover for the grip connector on the bottom of the camera, and it came with the wrong battery charger.

K5 is a great camera...a workhorse that I never had any problems with. You will enjoy I am sure.

I still use mine as a second body for weddings and events. You have a great camera so take the weekend and just shoot! Don't worry about anything else. Get a feel for the camera and enjoy

Well it finally arrived today.
Auction ended last Wednesday. Ebay posting stated 1st Class post
The seller finally despatched it Friday by Parcelforce 48
So it arrived 6 days since the auction ended

Well it seems in good working order.
Will need a firmware update (currently 1.03) and hopefully the batteries (got a 2nd with the D-BG4) continue to hold a good charge

Ages now until the weekend to give it a full test lol
