The K5 had pretty good autofocus as long as it was in broad daylight. Did you try taking pictures of things moving towards you or away from you? Or did you just take pictures of things moving sideways to you where the distance isn't changing all that quickly?

Most of the kids were moving toward me. Goal keeper was moving sideways. As noted, I (remain) very happy with the K-5's autofocus capabilities. I also get good results with cycling.

Here's a couple of crops of two of the images posted at the beginning of this thread.

The K5 has a more sensitive sensor than its predecessors as such 64,000 would appear like 800iso in a earler model but I remembered somthing I read the other day if you use a 2x converter with your lens your F4 will become F8 and F8 would become F16 so a convertor would help control the f stop then the rest is up to you at F8 you should get the depth of field to sharpen it and also try using the spot or central segment metering rather than the whole view finder as that will be working against you if you want to concentrate on the main players. that way the background trees wouldn't slow your exposure down.

the bluring I saw was more on the right side suggesting movement only slight and also on the grass suggesting depth of field. You asked, I've answered I've got no more suggestions for you that covers it. I stuck leather on my shutter button to correct movement on the right side of the image. That image you have anyway is pretty good for an action shot.
I doubt ISO 64,000 will give me a useful image but I will test your theory when I next get the opportunity. Thank you for your comments.

I haven't got a K-5 but I've been reading the reviews on them as it's possibly my next camera I picked up the 64,000 iso comparison from a review one would expect a review to be factual. Let me know how you go with the 64000iso the reason I pick this for my choice is it has the lowest iso available.

I think you perhaps mean ISO 6400 (rather than 64000)? The K-5 (and indeed the models since then) are all capable of taking decent shots at ISO 6400, depending on the level of detail you expect and your appetite for noise. Shooting RAW is a must, as is a certain amount of gentle post-processing to get the right balance between noise reduction and retention of detail...

You may be correct about that. I have never shot in raw so that is somthing I will have to try after I read about it a bit.
