It was bought prior loved with an intermediate fault of the SR system failing, and today, just in time for Christmas, it has finally given up.
Asking of it to capture a Indian Minor with it's child perched the with the sun shining toward it was to much. It finally let go. Activating the shutter now has it locked in a clickclikclicklickclick techo styles dance where you can only regain control by pulling the battery.
The we ol' thing captured a bunch of moments. To many friends, to many pleasant memories, heck it saw my engagement.
Ye K5 with Serial 3842406, with 33,727 images under your belt (I'm sure one of you nerds is keeping track of when these things die), I thank you.
This is a little late but have you done tried a firmware reload. The Shake Reduction is made up of magnets, sensors, microprocessors, of those only the microprocessors can cause what your camera is doing I think. I would suspect low voltage as well. But, I would think its very fixable and probably something minor. But getting another used camera is your best bet besides reloading the firmware. Try
turning off Shake Reduction? I know it moves to its home position even turned off, but maybe.
Good Luck
