Mechanical IBIS in video.

Hello,

Just a quick question: Is the K-5 the last Pentax applying mechanical IBIS in video? I prefer this approach versus the electronic stabilization. I was considering the K-3 but if the mechanical IBIS is missing from video I think I will stick with the K-5 for now.

That would seem to be correct. Which is a shame by the way the KP in particular has made good strides for pretty sharp 1080p, but I'm stuck having to be super careful with my human stabilization or using a tripod.

The K7 was the first Pentax DSLR with mechanical IBIS in video.

Amen. A reason offered was that the noise gets picked up by the microphone.

Okay, but why not make it a choice in a menu? There are people who prefer external microphones anyway, or will be putting music over the video in post instead.

Exactly, if there was no microphone input, OK but with one it's a VERY stupid choice.
Let's make it disabled by default if they want and that's it.

That is exactly what I think too.
