K-5lls and time glass

Dear All,

What would be the fastest SD card currently available to work with K-5lls?
Now with more modern Pentax's coming up I am finding a bit annoying to wait 4+ sec for the image data to be recorded onto the SD card while watching the time glass.

kind regards
jack

It doesn't have UHS support so the fastest write speed is 25 MB/S, if it supports high speed, otherwise it's 12.5 MB/S.

A C10 standard card would be fine, regardless of UHS category.

I use the 95 MB / s sandisk, it is not worth using them faster, since the read / write speed of the camera is slower.

As previously mentioned, the write speed of the K-5 IIs is likely to be the limiting factor, unless the card is very slow. Pleased bear in mind that the advertised speeds for SD cards is usually the maximum read speed, so you will need to check the detailed specs to find the write speed. Often this is considerably lower, as in the case of the Lexar Professional 633x cards, which have a maximum read speed of 95 MB/s but a maximum write speed of 45 MB/s. These are also burst numbers, as the minimum sustained write speed is only 10 MB/s.

so to summarise , you can use any SD C10 , UHS or UHS l , U1 or U2 ?
Or U3 and V30 - are they also compatible with this camera?
Any better brands?

I have combination of those:

Pulse Media HC C6
HoodMan HC I , U1 , C10
SanDisk HC I , C4
SanDisk HC , C4
Kingstone HC , C4
SanDisk HC I , C10 , 30MB/s
SanDisk HC I , C10 , 40MB/s
SanDisk HC I , C10 , 80MB/s
SanDisk HC I , U1 , C10 80MB/s
SanDisk HC I , U3
SanDisk XC I , U3

Could someone knowledgable possibly categorise them please.
There is practically not much info online available.
What to use with what?
Or it does not really matter?

I have also one on order for K-3III for slot 1:
SanDisk XC II , U3 , C10 300MB/s.

Settings like lens or highlight / shadow correction could be what is slowing your camera down. Turn them off and see if that speeds things up.

I wish , manufactures would simplify and standardise the classification of the data storage cards.
