I'm going next saturday to korfbal (don't know proper english term since that would make basketball again, and that is a different sport).

It is a mixed sport, but I'm going to the Dutch Lady's Championship evening. The mixed games are late april or so (hope to go then aswell since that is a spectacle with more then 10.000 visitors). Also a new sport for me.

I have friends here in the UK who play it, and they call it Korfball too.

I would brighten the basketball pic a bit to bring out the player more, even if it increases noise. Otherwise a great shot!

The DA70 is really nice for sports when you can get close enough. Nice shot!

Much better! But I think you can brighten it a tad more, at least to my taste.

Yes, she is jumping over a person to break a board with her kick.

My 10 y.o. son, Kaiea, is competing at the Queensland School Championships, starting today. He's only in 2 events, in the 50m Backstroke and he got into the Freestyle Relay after another guy pulled out. Realistically, the competition is fierce and I can't see him processing to the Nationals (swimming is taken very seriously in Australia), but we're excited that he has made it to the State competition since starting serious training & competition this year, and this will give him a taste of high-level competition.

Here are two shots recently taken at the Sunnybank Swimming Club Championships. It's easier to get good shots here because it's a 25m outdoor pool and you can freely move around it. I can't do that at the 50m Olympic-standard indoor pool at the Chandler Aquatic Centre where the Regionals & State competitions are help. The lighting is also not as good.

I like to convey the alien, burnish copper look of swimmers. Here's a shot processed with high local tone mapping in PSP X4. It was lopsided and I missed the top of the cap, so I've close cropped it to try to rebalance.

Dan.

Intense junior football again.

Going for the ball with the local main football stadium as the background

No goal...

...no goal...

...no...

Finally 1-0.

K-5 + Tamron 70-200 f2.8.
Our team won again remaining unbeaten in the series. However, the season ends in october, so we've got plenty of opportunities to lose many games until the gravitationally challenged lady has sung.

I wouldn't worry about that. In fact, you should crop about half of his cap off and even the water under the wake. That style is starting to become very popular, especially in a shot like that. You don't need the entire subject in the frame.
