I've been quiet for a while, so it's maybe time to show what's been going on with our U17 football team. All pictures with K-5 and Tamron 70-200 f2.8, mostly wide open.

Totally dominated the game but only managed a 1-0 win in over time.

A 0-2 win against a very physical team 160 km up north from home. A lot of sore ankles after the game.

Being the leader of the series and meeting the bottom team can be mentally difficult. A 0-0 tie and the first lost points in the series.

Without going further into the details our head coach resigned / was dismissed. Here's the new one whom some of you may even recognize.

The first defeat of the year 2012 but against a worthy opponent far from the north. 0-2 on the home turf.

On the road and winning again. 0-1 win against the original team of the Finnish king of football Jari Litmanen, who had been teasing our coach for a week before the match that we would lose. We're honoured to have had his attention.

Another game away from home, 170 km up north in Tampere. The home team was currently on the bottom of the charts and after our 0-5 win remained there. All our goal scoring players are in this picture, from the left: 2 goals, 2 goals and 1 goal. This was the first game I shot in pouring rain with the help of LensCoat RainCoat over the Tamron lens. It was a bit over sized but did the job.

There will be 12 more matches in the season and I'll probably do a similar post later. How will it all end, we'll know by the end of september.

Athletics: Eef Kamerbeek Games

I don't do athletics a lot, but every year there is one off the national games in my nearby town. I always meet up with André there and when the sun is shining it is always great.

1. Remona Fransen - I

2. Remona Fransen - II

3. Remona Fransen - III

4. op weg met de stok...

5. zelfde dame, maar wel een andere sprong

I hope that I don't offend you but I can clearly see that you're an "ass" guy.

Well I stumbled into Ron at that track & field meeting. It's our annual mini meet.
This is an action shot of the topic starter Ron hendriks at that meet;

A number of our atletes who will be at the olympics were at this meet, probably testing and finetuning for the big one in London.
Dafne Schippers, will be in the heptathlon, here at the 100m hurdles

Gregory Sedoc, will run the 110m hurdles

Eelco Sintnicolaas, will be in decathlon in London, here at polevault

Eric Cadee, throwing the discus

This is an international meet and there were also a number of atletes who were far away from home
This is Liz Lamb from New Zealand. She won the highjump

Dustin Deleo from USA won the polevault

Jeff Coover also USA was 3rd in the polevault

Exciting times for track & field. By the way, Remona Fransen's technique is a little loose. Gregory Sedoc, on the other hand, looks on the money.

Andre - Great pictures, thanks for sharing. It brought up a couple of comments.

1) Ron, you have been exposed! That picture you have of yourself on this site looks like it might be more than a year or two old?
2) How is it that two of the best sports sets I have seen on this site are from two guys from the Netherlands? Is there some magic Pentax accessory they sell there?

A good question! Great shots, all of them. I especially liked RF III and Liz Lamb.

I know, I have to loose some weight (again)

Today I went to the presentation off the new soccerteam of the combination PSV and FCE (both in the city of Eindhoven). At home they play in blue/white (from FCE) and out they play in the red color off PSV.

Ron,

When you said you don't do too much sports, I said to myself that I had to get to your site to see what other great stuff you have. When i went to the site in your profile here, I got to a set of volleyball pictures (fantastic), but could not figure out how to get to any other pictures. Was I doing something wrong?
