GvilleRick, you did a great job capturing the action. Might the shots be a bit over-processed, though?

Does the job.

Here's a few from something moving a bit quicker.....complete with dust and mud...often all in the same day.
Cheers.

Thanks. The only processing was cropping in Picasa.

It's just the light that gives that look, I suspect. Look at the shadows - golden hour, or close to it. Also nice sharp action shots.

The game started at 6:00pm and sunset was listed for 7:30pm. These shots were taken between 6:00 and 7:00. Once the sun goes down and the lights come I have to bump the ISO way up to keep decent shutter speeds.

Night time sports photography challenges my amateur abilities as well as the K5s capabilities.

K5, Sigma 70-200mm OS HSM DG

This lens is a perfect match for the K5!! My old Tamron 70-200mm SP F2.8 is history!! Fast, decisive focusing makes it a pleasure to use. Friday night lights have never been so awesome!!! ALL SHOT AT 6400 ISO!

Don`t know about that, it is half dead from too much water . We had one of the rainiest summers in the recent memory.
