I'm not sure tbh, on photome it says 1700. But the seller said it should be more than that (around 5k ish).
He mentioned the sensor is already swapped due to sensor stain so I guess pentax reset the shutter count to 0 after that

Well, Azzy, I think you really scored a big one here (happy for you) and this kind of deal is hard to come by. For me, on top of the sale price I still have to pay for the shipping and tax (only GST - seals the deal here). You still have 4-years remaining in your warranty whereas I only get 2 plus the VISA 1-year extension. I am sure you will enjoy yours and take some great pictures with it. I have recently changed the jpeg settings on my k-7 and getting some decent low-noise shots at the iso3200 range. I thought I could get by with the k-7 until the price drop of k-5 drop to around 800, but this deal came by, I just couldn't resist . I will be doing a lot of comparisons between the 2 cameras now.

Yup, about 6 hours ago I traded my K20, Battery grip, Nikon D80, Metz 58 AF-1 (Nikon), two lenses for Nikon and a cheap Sigma for Pentax for my NEW K-5.

Total amount of REAL money was about $170 that I had to contribute.

I'm now learning how to use it. I did have the manual on my iPad several weeks ago but can now practice what I read.

Looks like a nice camera.

Congrats! I'm sure you'll love the step up from the K20. I shot a K-20 in the fall (friend lent it to me, as my wife had out K-5) and I must say.. it was ok.. but having used my K-5 since February, it sure was a throwback to step down to the K-20.

Thanks. I'll sure I will enjoy it.

At present I'm at the 'how do I do this' stage and the 'why is that button in a different place' stage!!

However, I always feel that way about any new replacement piece of equipment.

they also have the 18-135 kit for 1499 which is an excellent kit for someone starting out (and a $300 savings) I think that should be the main kit for a K5 myself. 18-55 is decent enough but the 18-135 is far better (and more in line with what canikon kit with d700 and 7d)

The 18-135 is over priced for what you get.. for the same price you could get the 18-55 and 50-200 WR's and have more options.. I'd gladly trade my 18-135 WR for the 18-55WR/50-200WR combo

My 18-135 and 55-300 combo works well too (at least up to 250). I find I use the 50-135 a lot these days (love the speed) when I use a zoom, but tend to miss the wide end of the 18-135. Either way, the cheaper kit lenses work quite well, even the little 18-55 (non WR) that came with my K-x. And apart from the 18-135 which I bought with my K-5, the others were pretty good deals here in the Marketplace.
Kerrisdale Cameras also have a good website for used stuff, and they bargain a bit - http://www.kerrisdalecameras.com/files/used_list.pdf - eg. - today there is a 50-200 WR for $190.

I might consider making a trade as I have the 18-55WR and the 50-200WR. Where abouts in BC are you located?

Why can't they just make the 55-300 a WR and solve all my problems.. then I could justify having an overlap of 55-135. JHD, as long as my wife agree's with me I'm totally game for trading the lens.. it is after all "our camera gear"..

Kerrisdale Camera is a GREAT store! I picked up my Tamron Adaptall 24mm f2.5 and some other odds and ends.. As well as a Vivitar TX 400mm f6.3. I've been in 2 of their locations, but for Pentax gear the one actually IN Kerrisdale is supposed to be the best.

Lozeau is very aggressive on pricing, they were the cheapest last christmas too.
