Price of K5 in Canada.

So, the current price means that I spent an extra $350 ( at Broadway Camera) to have my K-5 for the past year!
I didn't have a dslr before that, so I'm glad I bought it when I did.

Well I'm about to cave, henry's has it for $999 right now... Only question is if I should sell my kx or not as I don't really have the money for a k5 right now and need to sell some things to finance it. I think I will, though mainly having prime lenses a second body would be handy.

I'd keep it.. I have a K-5 and am considering picking one up.. or a K-r.. or wait and see for the K-3...

Yeah, I slept on it and ordered the k5 just now. Going to keep the kx as a second body so I don't need to change lenses as much at gigs/events, it's still a great backup camera. I'll just sell other things to pay for the k-5.

The price seems to be dropping pretty rapidly if Henry's is posting it at $999 now. I spent $1079 not even 2 weeks ago at Saneal to get mine.

What makes this whole situation interesting is that the U.S. Price was trending down earlier - which made the deal more attractive since the CAD$ was running so strongly. However, now that we are back to par, the Henry's deal is quite good value.

I see that Downtown Camera, which is across the street from the Henry's flagship store and usually takes great delight in undercutting Henry's prices, is at $984.

PENTAX K-5 BODY

If this keeps up maybe we'll actually hit the ~$800 with kit lens that the K10d was being sold for at the end of its run in Canada. I think the K20d actually got cheaper than that in the US ($600?) but the I don't remember the Canadian price getting much under $1000.

Edit: The D7000 is listed at $1044 and the 60D is at $884, so that puts the K-5 comfortably in between them.

Does anyone know if Henry's will price match with Downtown camera? Since there is a Henry's store in Brampton, would like to get that price without going to downtown Toronto. Also, is Henry's price good till Oct-18 or just ends after the photo show? Very tempting price now or should we wait till pre-xmas season starts...

It's about the time to sell my K-7 for around $400 (less than 4000 actuations) and get a K-5. I will contact prodigital2000 first; she gives discount for direct deal and no PST.

No PST buying from Henry's was a big incentive for me, ended up only being $50 with free canada post shipping. Couldn't resist, can't wait to get it!
