I will also buy one, but I still don't know how to finance this purchase, maybe I have to sell some primes that have similar focal lengths ...

I have a trip to the US soon and for about 2 weeks so hopefully the K5 will be out. I'm also flying the first or secind week of November. Can't wait to get the K5, as it will be a perfect complement to my good'ol K20D.

I thought the price of K-x was reasonable, for example pretty close to the same as I paid for a new LX3 ("serious" P&S - very nice compact camera, which I / my wife keep next to DSLR) about a year ago (so way after introduction).
- Maybe 1-2 years later I buy a K-5 (and by then probably "saved" a full K-x to donate to my father).

Who did you preorder yours from Luke? We may have a race for first in Iowa!

My guess is it could to be to do with video flicker on 50hz lighting.

I'd rather see nice posted photos vs a race to buy a camera

I had problems with both the demo K5's yesterday at SRS with the DA*300. Neither would start refocusing the lens from close to distant when on centre point but were fine on auto... go figure. (note. neither had final firmware, in fact not even sure whether they had the same pre release versions)

Still did place my £20 deposit and left with the DA35Ltd Macro. That Chris is some salesman Release date per Pentax UK was first week November.
