I might have to call ambulance for your throat illness ... He got the pointer in there, to be afraid of what might the price can do to a system if sensors are made in the US. Just think about the new pentax K-5 selling at MSRP $1599.00 The magnesium construction of the body, SR, WR to name a few were also applied to 645D, well it is bigger maybe but if to compare the #2 bodies of K-5 = #1 body of 645D for example, but then it's still cheaper, So what his point probably true just take into account why the price of 645D reach as high as $9,999.00.
just my 2c...

This whole crappy Samsung sensor thing has been blown totally out of proportion in the last few months or since the K-X came out anyway. Up to then we were all happy campers extolling the virtues of the sensor, its a fickle thing this photography business
And the Samsung was class leading when it came out, and at lower ISO I still have to be convinced it has been blown away by any of the newer sensors.
Hence my original question
From what I have seen, It is a notch above the K20D at low ISO, the AA filter is again like the K10D, (very weak ) The colors seem more natural OOC, better gradients, more DR, less clipping. And almost no grain. which I sometimes noticed on smooth objects.

I believe that newer sensor mostly comes into play, when current *A*(year old sensor) favorite has been outclassed by *B* more newer sensor and has been edged by *C*(same sensor) more of better algorithm and better body and ergonomics(pentax )

But i don't know how long the K-5 will grab the headline and stays on top longer, unless of course they will do something about it (adding new function thru FW, or another new body... wutever)

The weak AA filter explains why Hans over at Photozone is getting one for future testing. My K20D is now going to a friend....

That's good news. It's about time Klaus started testing with higher resolution. Too many lenses bump up against the K10D's limits.
