Nevertheless, starting price of K-5 is very good ― only 1100EUR. In fact it is so good that I am thinking about upgrading immediately when K-5 will be available.

I am aware of that, and my supplier got cameras very early with the K-7 launch, later for the K-20 launch, therefore I am kind of prepared for not getting it first (assuming they are trying to be fair, running the list upside down every second launch). But I have two K-7 and my K-20 so it is not really urgent, just that when I have deiced I want something I want it NOW!!!!! And I am taking lots of photos is poor lightning, actually we do not have much of light here in daytime even this time of year. Actually because of that I think the countries up north should get the K-5 first, we need it the most :-)

Don't worry. First of all because Riga is not in Lithuania. And second - Lithuanian distributor has just listed K-5 a few hours ago, stock is not there yet.

Haha, sorry, just got back home after dinner and drinks, obviously my english country name centre is a bit blocked :-) Latvia and Lithuania has always confused me. Lettland and Litauen is much easier to keep apart :-)

K-5 has arrived in Brussels as anticipated (Oct 15). But AFAIK the quantity is rather limited. I've no idea where first units are being shipped to. Pentax HQ in Paris didn't receive their batch yet until yesterday.

Brussels, as in Pentax European central warehouse, not as in Belgium retail. There is a chance that all stock is forwarded out of Belgium

ah ok...

anyway i did some more research and found this retailer which has it listed for 1199 eur which i think is a great starting price! the shop is quite good and reliable.
they say the "k5 will soon be available".

the standard is,arrive in brussels unpacked only packed in foil and big packages with a couple of bodys.
than they put the instructions with the right languages together and send it back as complete package to the country offices.
the instructions were printed in belgium for a long time ago.

The country office step is optional and skipped in most cases. Countries can ask the central warehouse to ship to dealers directly.

Bastian Lende is not Wieland (blende8)

Bastian Lende works at Pentax in Hamburg. He participates at some forum discussions in Germany but one should be aware that he sometimes expresses personal opinions rather than an official Pentax point of view. He currently has "easy access" to the Photokina samples of the K-5 I am glad he made good use of it in producing said video.

This is not a Dutch shop. It is located in Switzerland and I hardly believe, they have or will get any K-5 in stock in the near future.
