Bastian Lende works at Pentax in Hamburg.
That's a coincidence!

This is not a Dutch shop. It is located in Switzerland and I hardly believe, they have or will get any K-5 in stock in the near future.
I know it is a Swiss company, they sell in various countries.
Prices can differ per country, perhaps due to VAT differences.
Feedback on this shop on the Internet is pretty good.
I can wait...

Well, not really. blende is German and means aperture. So, Wieland's nickname means f/8 which is pretty different from Bastian Lende

Their server is located in Belgium where .nu (sounds like .now there) is popular too.

BTW, did you know that the Government of Nieu never gained control about their own TLD (toplevel-domain) .nu? That even gov.nu is a fake? That may be due to the fact that the population of Nieu is a whopping 1400. The wealth of all of them would explode if they only could gain access to their own TLD ...

k5 in France

It seems first announcments of k5 in France have been delayed to 4th of november, "Salon de la Photo" of Paris.
Pentax France seems wait this Salon for make a lot of noise.

I preordered 1 week ago k5 999 euros and 100 euros cash-back, which means k5 899 euros.
Shop seller told me he started his adverts to quickly, so I 'm waiting, hoping he will respect that price.

This week in France k5 is prorderer about 1099 euros, for example here:

Un produit propos par Photo Saint Charles, votre partenaire photo.

and 100 euros cash-back available until january.

After 1 week of excellent first feelings from k5 US or Japan owners, main question is not "how much?", but "how many?"

Blende, diafragma.... I should have known, my German normally is good enough...

The .nu url point to the Dutch website, since the .nl is used by a photo club.
Something one sees often over here.

I did not know that Nieu is a country, is it?

Yes, it is (Two letter TLDs are reserved for countries, like in toysr.us -- which is why .eu was so heavily discussed). But any average Pentaxian meeting should be easily able to invade and conquer

BTW, the CIA factbook ranks Nieu GDP as #226 of 227

Called our Pentax retailer, no info on the price but it's going to be available in november-december. In Germany it's 1400€ 18-55KIT, body only 1350€ a bit high But it will be still cheaper than from our retailer in my country

Last I heard concerning availability here in Belgium would be that De Beukelaer (the Belgian Pentax distrubutor, not connected to the european central warehouse) would have them on 25 October. I'm hoping mine's in their first batch, so I would have it by early November...

Someone claimt that cameranu.nl had some K-5 distributed, but I have no sign of evidence to be true. I pre-ordered it, and for a probably interesting price, but detailes after the purchase (hopefully soon).

Any news on that cash-back, because for 100 euro cash-back I can wait for november 4th.
