Yeah I can't afford the K5 without selling the K20. Still sitting on the fence a bit. The biggest letdown for me with the K20 is taking long low light exposures (seascapes etc), There usually is just too much noise to do much with the photos and the amount of PP you can do is limited by this. If the K5 could handle this type of photo then I wouldn't hesitate. I'm just worried that it may be me not the camera!
Oh well will have drop the price of the K20 and if it sells then that will make the decision for me.

Wanted to buy some spare batteries for my K5. D-Li90 from CRK is almost 4x the price of B&H. Just can't imagine how they justify it?

These guys are reliable and their batteries are extremely good even though they're not genuine. I've been using them in my K20D for awhile now and never a problem, and the charge lasts as long as my genuine Pentax battery.

Pentax K-5 Digital Camera Battery

Just checked CRK price and it's $100.00 over the other two. That's one helluva profit.

Did the same comparison the other day and decided to go with B&H. Ordered the battery plus a couple of other things on the 22nd, arrived today

I have bought these batteries from china for K7 and k5 and other cameras over the years and have never had a problem, just bought the battery grip and spare battery $61.30 delivered. In the instruction book with the battery grip it states that it is dust and water resistant. P.S. the batteries last as long as the genuine ones some were even made in the same viet factory as original, according to a buisness friend in Vietnam.

Thanks for the links, but no matter how good the a/m batteries may be $139 compared to $36 is outrageous. CRK can't be paying more than B&H are selling them for, otherwise they would be buying them from B&H instead of Pentax. Luckily they are reasonably competitive on bodies otherwise they would be a complete right off in my book.
I've added a couple of originals to my wish list at B&H for when I can afford another to put through another order with them. Sure wish we had a retailer like them in Aus.

retailing opportunism.
In a lot of cases I believe it is on the distributors side, it isn't always the retailer.. Though I am sure that goes on too..

Ben Kanarek's comment that a pro couldn't tell the difference between a A3+ print taken with a Canon 5D MK2 and a K5. That to me is the only test that matters.
All that tests is megapixels. The K-5 has far more dynamic range and kills the mk2 under difficult conditions.

Yes it's the DR that I want, as this has always been an issue with the K20. I saw Ben's comment as a positive for the K5, as the Canon 5D MK2 has been a bit of a benchmark for a while.

I got it on ebay from comf-pro in china, the quality is as good as original, having said that I have read a few posts in the past that some thought the original was not as good as they thought it would be. I think they were expecting it to be magnesium alloy and of course it is not its plastic just lke the knock offs. The communication from the company was very good and at that price with a spare battery + the ebay rating is very high.

You say you would buy the original what did you find wrong with the knock off.
