I dont like the shutter release button on the grip..or the back/front wheels...
the shutter release button takes a bit of a push to operate, and as a result you may end up taking a image. rather than just metering......the on/off slide button is also sloppy.

at the mo the pucker grip can be had for $199 at B&H...postage is a killer though at about $60...alright if you gonna buy a bit of other gear as well i suppose..

the third party cost me $54 au..to my door...look..it aint bad..just dont feel as good as the K5 does..

one thing I did get with the grip..was a cabled remote shutter release. for a grand total of $3.88 au..and that is great..works a treat and feels well made...crazy world aint it

If I recall I paid around $130.00 for the cable release for the K20D which I hope works with the K-5 because I don't want to buy another one if I can avoid it.

I just use a remote which I got cheaply on Gumtree (the missus washed the original one!). Think it was about $30. I will check out that grip from ebay, can't afford the real deal.

There seems to be worrying amount of issues with the K5 appearing on here. Are they exaggerated ot not? Do any K5 users in Oz have any problems? (other than the stain one)

no stains...I do have FF in low light though.. that's it for my K5

although the FF is a pain at the MO...in most of my shots thus far.the K5 has been quite outstanding...the DR is so much better than the K7 it aint funny...

as long as you stop down a tad the FF issue goes away

we all want the FF issue resolved.....just make sure you buy it from a dealer that will let you return it if needed !

I had the stain - CR Kennedy replacing the camera. But the other reported problems - low light tungsten focus, bounce flash - were fine on my camera.

Did you contact and send the camera back to CR Kennedy directly or take it back to the place of purchase?

I rang the place of purchase and CRK to have a whinge. A couple of weeks later CRK rang back to say my replacement was waiting.

Just ordered the K-5/DA18-135 kit from DCW today. It was in stock, in fact several places had the camera in stock.

Will be interesting to see if its a kit or two boxes. I don't really care myself.

While i had no gripes with my K20D, its clear the K-5 is much better in many ways ;-)
