K-5 has simply best IQ between DSLR Pentax ever made

After converted K-5's DNG....I'm really impressed.
I could say...
For me - it's the best camera after my K200D. I plan to buy K-5.

I don't care about video and buffer size. It's really COOL photo tool for me.
The colour is different from K200D, but...GOOD.
And better than K-x/K-r.

I'm impressed with resolution and outstanding balance between noise and details.

ogl,

I love the colour output of K10/200 sensor and that's one reason I've been holding off to upgrades to K20/-7. Could you please post picture of the same subject with the same lens so I could visualize the difference between K200D and K-5 it terms of colours?

Thanks

Peter

IQ from K-5 is really good, but I doubt it will beat 645D.

But the 645D isn't 6 times as good as the K-5 oh well, the law of diminishing returns...

From the samples I've seen so far, I agree with Ogl. This camera seems just amazing, and it's the first time since I bought my K10D almost 3 years ago that my camera suddenly looks old. This will be a worthy upgrade, I have to start saving...

Pentax K-5 - - - iXBT

I'm low ISO shooter.

But...ISO1600 is really good for me.

As pixel-peeper, I can say that 100% full-sized photos from K-5 is better than 14.6 MP.

MP doesn't spoil IQ. The crops are close to 10-12 MP pictures from Pentax in terms of sharpness. AA filter seems weaker than K-7. I'm really impressed. Better sensor?
PRIME II is the same as in K-7.

For me, IQ of K-5 kills Canon 7D.

My first impressions

Yes. But just two files...it seems to me K-r is the older brother of K-x.

I'm very-very fastidious man and bore. That's why somebody don't like me...But...
It's raw treatment from some Pentaxian.

I like Pentax, but without blind love.

We can say about colours in details when all good converters will have K-5's support. C1Pro, LR, ACR.

PPL 4.3 offers good colours as usual, but it has weak debayer.

It seems to me (as far as my memory goes) that when K-7 came out you were writing at first that you were gonna buy it. At the end you did change your mind and remained with your trusty K200D...

Just playing a devil's advocate here...

Impressed here too, and definitely decided to replace the K200D with the K-5.
As soon as I can get my hands on one

The information I have from my pentax rep is that the entire ordered stock is already sold out...

No. K-7 - no any plans. I had thoughts about K-7 this year...But no any real plans. When K-7 came out - it's your dream.
