I love the handling and interface (buttons, functionality, etc...) of my K10D and have been thinking of finding a used K20D. Pentax lost me after the K7 and cheaper k whatevers came out.

huh

OMG! What did you want to go and do THAT for? Just kidding, I understand your reasons. Just because it's a couple generations old, doesn't make it a bad camera. Sometimes, tried true and proven are better than nifty new. My New K10d arrived last Christmas

Congratulations. K10D is very fine camera both as photographic tool and as a sensor/electronics combination.

I just love the sensor in K10D in ISO100 - detail down to the last pixel, stunning colours and virtually no noise.

This thread is worsening my interest in upgrading to the K10D from my DS.

If you can stand the weight and size increase, it might not be a bad idea.

I don't know why but I still have much more interest in shooting with my K10 rather than my K-7.
I have the battery grip on my K10 and wanted to keep the K-7 small for traveling lighter but even when I am just fuxing around shooting nothing, I still reach for the K10. I love this camera!

That's exactly what's held me back. I can't understand why these DSLR's keep getting bigger?

Cool. I wonder if I can find a gently used K10D somewhere in Toronto once I arrive.

How did you buy it, in person or online? I tried to order a K20d but there is no "add to cart" button.

I bought it in person after sending a PM to the PentaxForums user dnaseigel (he works there). I just checked the site and didn't see a button either. Send him a PM asking about the site...

I still get great results from my GX-10. I'll likely get a K-5 at some point unless I find $11k under a rock [645D].

Do you have any suggestions for older manual focus lenses I should look for? I don't do photography for a job, I am into it just for the artistic value.
I know you'll get a million opinions on manual primes- I just happened upon a highly regarded little lens made in Russia at various quality levels depending on the year of manufacturer, etc- the Helios 44-M, which is a 58mm f/2.4 lens. Works out to an almost perfect portrait lens at 87mm effective on Pentax crop.

I picked mine up at a yard sale for $10.00 with an old zenit body as a back cap

Requires an m42-k mount adapter, and you can read up here on the forums about using the m42 lenses on the digital bodies (I love working with it, being able to use Av mode with full manual is cool, just have to get used to the dark viewfinder at higher apertures, but that is a matter you can find out more about in various threads).
