Haven't had much time to do much other than take a peek at a few samples.
I'll be processing them today.
I can't batch process these(as I hoped) because they are all in need of individual adjustments.
Luckily I won't have to adjust the ISO80 and 100 sets

RPP is pretty good with WB, though I keep all shots on the "As Shot" setting.
But it doesn't seem to auto adjust expposure very well if the scenes are to far out of spec(no clue why).

because I discovered that NR is most visible in the red channel and the original files we shot(dollar bill) did not really exploit that.

I'm quite curious to see what you've dug up here. And also curious--perhaps only academically--in how that applies to other Pentax cameras. From what I've read so far, it sounds as though "extended" ISO isn't a term used to describe "we're pushing the sensor pretty hard, and you may not like the results," but rather "we're taking a lower ISO image and pushing it in our software so you have less post-processing to do." That would be a very useful definition of "extended," as it means there is absolutely no reason to shoot extended RAW images if the shooter is willing to do thorough post-processing.

But then, from the PP done on K-5 raw images so far, I've been nothing but stunned at what it churns out. Perhaps it is the 14 bits, or perhaps it is Exmor--or perhaps Exmor makes 14 bits is a reasonable proposition--but holy-frickin-cow-wrapped-in-bacon-next-to-mashed-potatoes. Next year's camera will have more resolution, but this year's jump in high ISO quality--I love the outdoors at nighttime--make me want this camera in a way I've never known before.

Like I said, curious to see what you come out with. (BTW, JB/dg, I enjoy editing text, so if you want some help with presentation, feel free to drop me a PM.) Thanks for all the work you've put in!

I'm just as anxious to see the results as everyone else

I just took the shots and directly uploaded them to John without opening the RAW files (with the exception of confirming that ACR doesn't like you taking pictures of currency).
