K-5 for m42 user?

So I'm in the market to upgrade my K10D. I'm looking for better high-ISO performance, live view/video capibility, in a solid, weatherproof body. I also like having two dials in combination with Av mode so I can set to adjust ISO and exposure compensation with dials, adjust aperture on the lens and let the camera handle shutter speed.

90% of my lenses are SMC Takumar's (though I consider investing in AF), and although I feel like I'll be missing out on some of the MAJOR benefits of the new K5, it also seems like the best body for the job when all is said and done. I wonder about picking up a K-R, but the viewfinder is smaller, is it not?

Any thoughts / comments? I know there are a lot of other manual lens users out there, what are you thinking in terms of bodies?

Well, the K-r is not weather-sealed and only has one wheel, so it sounds like you do need the K-5.

The K-r's viewfinder isn't physically smaller, but it does cover a smaller percentage of the image area, and has a smaller magnification.

You can compare your current camera with the other two here:

There are also links to the full tech specs for both cameras on the page above.
