Now when you compare that with the K-7, Ouch, it's not in the same class at all. And put K-X also

K5 is listed there at $1374. Where does that come from?

And the Kr as shooting 12 frames /second.

Am I undercaffenated this morning or am I seeing this correctly?

Prices will hold for longer, due to demand, which will be higher for this camera than any previous Pentax model. Those who can afford a $1600 camera with on par FF performance might as well pull the trigger.

the worst part is that the k5 so good make the 645d difficult to buy...but i will buy it anyway)
Haha
Maybe it was good for Pentax that it didn't beat the 645D in the overall ranking

(I still think that for some professionals, the 645D can do a lot of things the K-5 can't. Especially if you're printing very large)

Same overall score as the D3S, whatever that means.
It means the K-5 sensor performs as well as Nikon's 2nd most expensive PRO level camera which costs upwards of 4 times as much as the K-5... ay to go Pentax!!!

what's the verdict on DXO numbers?

that's good news for the k5.

the kr had a bad or not so good mark by DXO

what i don't understand is folks are singing high praises for the k5 and rightfully so and no one is bashing DXO, but with the results of the kr being where it's at, folks bash DXO.

so what's the verdict on DXO? it's good if it shows good scores for your camera and it's bad if it doesn't?

Truly amazing, and what I find in real world situations. Makes me proud to own a K5. Congrats to Pentax on a fine camera. It's well worth the money I paid for it.

I think people were disappointed that the Kr didn't score better (relative to the Kx). That said, I don't know if there was a good basis to expect that it would.

As for the K5 results, it confirms what all the initial user reports (and my own usage) showed.

Personally, I don't know enough about DXO's test methods, or camera evaluation, to form a verdict on DXO testing itself. But the "it's good if it scores well, bad if it doesn't" is just human nature.

How did conclusion get to - K-R had a bad mark by DXO.

Its equal to the K-X, or not significantly different.

Pentax basically made the K-R about the same as the K-X in Sensor performance, with significant improvements in other usage areas, which is not a bad thing at all.

The performance demands on a camera are, after all, more than just a sensor.
