K-5 body stripped bare

Flickr user Schaft9 (from Japan I believe) has just posted a very interesting set of 27 images showing the K-5 in various states of undress and dissection.
PENTAX K-5 body - a set on Flickr

One of the images is below:

It looks a tough little beast under the skin.

Never saw an A* 135mm f1.8 with that barrel. Is it a modern model?
Also looks like a silver DA 40mm Ltd right behind it!
and what's the lens in front of it?

I'm not seeing that image. Maybe it was renamed or removed?

The cast casing is impressive.. Very cool photos

But they were taken with a NIKON D5000

I think not.

If you look here:

you can see the lens bayonets straight into steel, and that black item sits behind the lens mount.

no,

Look at the fastener on the bottom center. It is threaded into plastic. If you look at the plastic casting, all of the lensmount fasteners thread into plastic.

I expect this allows the lens mount to break free of the camera preventing dammage to the lens should the lens and the camera get yanked on the wrong way.

Anyone else gets reminded of Terminator when looking at this image?

Well, given the beast, I easily see it crunching Nikons' and Canons' skulls into gravel with a nasty sneer...
Should have made the AF assist lamp bright red!

I can't be the only one that would kill to have a translucent body. OK, maybe not on the K5 (since you can't make translucent metal - I am looking at you scientists!) but the colored models, there is simply no excuse.

I like that Pentax is still making clear promo bodies for show. The earliest I know of would be the SFX in clear. Does anyone know when Pentax started to show clear bodies at the dealers?
