K5 after 10K

Ok After almost 10,000 Shutter count and about 3 weeks the K5 is holding up well.
Things I like:
AF speed
ISO/noise (Esp at/above 3200 till 12800)
Auto WB
Jpg Quality
DR is AMAZING!

Things I dislike:
no 1/250 xsync

Things I HATE:
Progressive Buffer (Higher ISO, smaller the Buffer) at 12800 I get 5-6framesn (In both jpg or RAW)
No Voice-memo (The damn thing has a mic, hell my Point and shoots can do this, Come ON!)

Things I expect to see fixed in soon to be released firmware update:
Buffer

Proof the Camera is better than the lens: My 16-50 AF speed/lock-on sux on it compared to any other lens old or new

Good Battery Life. Huge Files, Buffer Sucks! (OOPS Did I already say that)

DXO has it (the sensor) tied for 6th place really with only the D3s really beating it in the 35mm-ish size arena, Amazing

Wow. 10k actuations in 3 weeks...

I've had my K-x for over a year, shooting something every day, and yet I have only clocked up about 6000 shutter actuations.

I feel so inadequate. I must be doing something wrong.

How many of the 10K shots end up with accurate focus?

Shouldn't 1/250 sync essentially be a moot point with ISO 80 available now?

Assuming a full three weeks and dead on 10,000 shutter count.
Accounting for 8 hours sleep per day, not stopping for food or bathing etc.. That's 30 actuations per hour.

Perhaps the firmware may help the buffer issue, but voice memo? What on earth for?
You've been gunning fast with your K-5... any sign of slowing down? At this rate you'll hit the shutter's expected life span in under 8 months...

Damn...I have that many in like a year, I don't shoot fast though. To the other guy, nah you aren't doing anything wrong most likely.

Thanks for the post Brendan

with the high shutter count and a dislike of the high ISO progressive buffer .. I assume you shoot sports or motor sports?

Cheers

Does the image count restarts after 10000 like previous cameras? Would be a disappointment for me then.

Bremdam if you make 10k actuation in 3 weeks in a regular basis, I would be curious to know why you are not using a camera with a pro grade shutter (like a D3sthg or 1D)?

Yeah and it cost a lot to fix/replace a shutter right?

If I remember well Canon offers one free exchange of shutter on their pro grade camera. Considering the prices of the Pentax sav in France i am not sure it will be cheaper.

How long does the battery usually last (without using any flash)? Do you use a battery pack? And also, how large are the raw files? PEF or DNG?

10,000 clicks... wow... that's probably more than I've done since I started shooting around the year 2000... and in THREE WEEKS!
